Dr. Organic Aloe Vera skin care review

Dr Organic aloe Vera range is for sensitive and dry skin types and being both of those, I decided to try it out. I bought both products; the Aloe Vera face cream and Aloe Vera body butter from Holland and Barrett (I will leave the links for prices and products at the bottom of the page). Holland and Barrett stock the whole range that Dr. Organic offer and it is worth having a look at the other ranges.

Starting with the aloe Vera body butter, I found that although it is for dry skin, I would apply it and it would still feel quite dry afterwards. I used this product for 3 weeks until I could actually see the benefits of using the body butter and used an alternative body cream. The body butter contains very good natural ingredients like aloe Vera, shea butter, jojoba oil and vitamin E. The body butter didn't hydrate my skin and I was quite disappointed as it is paraben free, SLS free, no artificial colours, fragrances or harsh preservatives, so I had high hopes.
Dr organic aloe Vera body butter : 2/5 rating

Moving on to the aloe Vera face cream, I found the same problem with the face cream as I did with the body butter, however the face cream hydrated my skin enough for the season that I used it in which was summer. The cream is light enough for a summer cream as in the summer I do not need so much hydration  and this face cream would work perfectly for that time of year. I did not feel that my face benefitted from this cream and therefore I am rating the aloe Vera face cream with a 2/5 as well.

Dr. Organic do a wide range of different skincare products based on your type of skin and needs and I would recommend that you have a look at the other ranges as you may find they work for you.

Insanity review

I decided to start insanity yesterday, well this morning (1am). I got a random burst of energy and thought "why not start now".
I looked through the options of the dvd  and thought I would do the recommended 'fit test'.

The fit test is a 25 minute long work out that prepares you for the rest of the more intense workouts for the next 60 days, however you have to repeat the fit test every 2 weeks at first then every month to see your progress and if you have improved. So I began and thought 'hey this is good' and as you sweat and stop for a break,so do the 'helpers' in the video.
I got to about 7 minutes in, before I thought my heart was going to burst out of my chest. The workout is 60 seconds of the chosen move, then relax for 30 seconds and repeat. Hence why my heart was beating like crazy. So I stopped and decided to resume the next day. However, I did feel like although I did about 7 minutes intense working out, I still got something from the work out and I am aching the next day.

I would urge anyone that wants to start insanity to make sure you ease yourself into exercise before to help you get a little resistance. I would not recommend insanity to anyone that hasn't exercised for a while, as it throws you straight in to the deep end.
Other than that, if you want a good (but hard) work out insanity is perfect for you. Even the fittest people in the video can't even complete a whole round of insanity.

If you have tried insanity let me know what you think and if you feel better after doing it. I will carry on with the rest of the videos and let you know my progress as I go on.

Before you try it please consult a doctor if you have any outstanding heart problems etc as the work out is very intense.

Thinking positively

This 'little book of wisdom' is filled with quotes that the Dalai Lama has said and some of the things that he lives by.

As most would know the Dalai Lama is seen as a spiritual man and practices Buddhism. Those who revere him do not necessarily adopt Buddhist practices but find that his words of wisdom are beneficial for mental enrichment from his views on daily living and thinking.
This little book is a collection of advice, comments and sayings from the Dalai Lama.
The book is small enough to fit in your hand bag, it has great uplifting words that  can help you get out of negative thinking.
I tend to read a quote a day when I wake up to start my day off positively.

I would suggest anyone that finds it hard to think positively should grab this book, I bought it from Waterstones book shop for £3.50.

Welcome!

Welcome to Beauty Spot! My page will be about all things Beauty, that includes (in my opinion) Mental and physical health, hair, make up and more...

I want all that visits this page to feel like they are beautiful from the inside out! I have started this page as there was a time where I did not feel this way due to imperfections and I was judging myself on what I saw on television, I did not have any self confidence and wanted to be someone else, I was eating crappy food, which, does aid  depression and feeling bad about yourself let alone making you put on weight. I then came to the realisation that in order for YOU to feel beautiful you have to start with the inside and work your way out. I haven't fully got there yet BUT I am on my way. I have weight to lose, I have imperfections that I cannot change and I have treated my body badly.

If this sounds like you, STOP as this is doing more harm than good. I am on my journey to Loving life and Beauty Spot is my 'go to' in order to let people know about all the great things that find 'beauty wise' with some extra stuff thrown in.

This page is a personal page for me and I will only put things that I am interested in on it.

So please keep popping back to my page as it will be up and running very soon!

Thanks for stopping by !
